Flight Winners
o Flight winners are determined by the player with the best overall W-L record in their flight for that respective half. In the event of a tie, tiebreakers will be utilized.
The playoffs will be comprised of the winners of their flights for the 1st half and 2nd half, both flights will have two representatives in the playoffs/championship. In the event the same player in a given flight wins both the 1st and 2nd half, the highest next player in the standings will represent in the playoffs/championship (subject to tie-breakers). The championship will be an 18-hole match where we will crown the winner.
Single Match
o Putt Off: This occurs when a non-playing member of the league throws a ball over his head with his back turned to the practice green, the members participating in the putt off will then putt out one by one with the other player not seeing how many strokes have taken place. This will be conducted until we have a winner.
Flight Winners
o Head-to-Head Record
o Flight Record
o Putt Off (see rules above)
Handicaps will be determined by a rolling 8 week average of the players scores rounded to the nearest integer. Using these handicaps will determine the stroke differential in a given match.
Example: Ian shoots 47, 51, 45 in weeks 1-3 his average is established as 48. Ben shoots 43, 46, 42 in weeks 1-3 and his average is established as 44. When Ian and Ben face off in week 4 Ben will start the round by giving 4 strokes to Ian.
All standard USGA rules will be in effect (unless exception noted below). If a player does not know the exact ruling on a situation they can discuss with their opponent and foursome to come to a resolution.
If a ball is clearly hit out of bounds and both you and your opponent can track its point of entry you can take your distance and a 1 shot penalty (similar to how a water/lateral hazard would work).
Provisional shots may be hit in the event you are not sure your ball is playable, it must be communicated and acknowledged by your opponent that you are hitting a provisional. In the event you do find your original ball you are obligated to play your original ball.
No gimmes are allowed, each player must finish the hole in its entirety.
One mulligan is allowed per round on a tee shot of any hole that is not a par 3, if a mulligan is used by your opponent first you then have the right to a mulligan on any hole on any shot that is not a putt. In any case the player is not obligated to play their mulligan.
